Safety, Temperature & Device Behavior

Safe Use of the Display Surface

While the display is designed with a protective air gap, it is not intended to serve as a resting surface for hot cookware. Placing hot pans directly on the display may overheat internal electronics and cause permanent damage.

A built‑in display temperature sensor warns users when high temperatures are detected.

Automatic High‑Temperature Shutoff

To protect both the cookware and internal components, the cooktop automatically shuts off an element if the pan exceeds 500°F.

Wi‑Fi Requirement

Wi‑Fi is required for initial setup, software features, and ongoing safety updates.

Connectivity Rules

  • Offline for 14 days: The cooktop begins sending reconnection reminders.
  • Offline for 30 days: The cooktop resets and must be set up again.

Over‑the‑air updates deliver new features, performance improvements, and safety enhancements.

How to Power Cycle the Cooktop

Power cycling can resolve minor issues or software glitches.

To perform a power cycle:

  1. Hold the power button for 10 seconds.
  2. You may hear a click and see the LED ring flicker—this confirms shutdown.
  3. Wait 2 minutes.
  4. Press the power button again to restart the system.
